Set List preview

I was wondering if any of you lot were wondering where we've wandered off too. Were you? I wonder. Anyway, with Boz firmly in the drum seat, we're currently working on getting a full set of our own songs together (only three covers!?) and practising up for some gigging...

There's a few new tunes lurking about (some of you may of heard the recent demo we recorded at Mad Dog Studios) and the order isn't finalised, but the list currently looks something like this: Madam Majiva, Banquet, This is My Place, Betty Ford, Where is My Mind?, Just Give Me, LSF, Slow Down, Lonely, Kill the Robot, Priest, Fuckbeast, Open Ground.

There's also a couple of others flying around and the possible pillaging of some of Boz's more recent back catalogue... see you soon!

New year and a new drummer

Boz, drunkAs a lot of you probably know we've been practising and playing with Boz on drums. Boz used to be a key player in High Times along with our very own Rich before he joined us in 2003.

Since putting High Times on hold, Boz has worked at his own music and has amassed a fair few recordings of his ideas. We've been playing together since the tail end of 2008 and its all going well - we have a couple of new covers and some re-worked versions of our own songs. We've also been using Mad Dog Studios in Deeside to help us kick ourselves back into shape.

The Battle of the Bands gig at The Tivoli was a good laugh - we suffered with sound quality a bit (why were we the only band without a sound check?) and Neil breaking a string on the first song was bound to happen as soon as Sod realised we didn't have any spare guitars. Eh well, the tunes went down well and if it wasn't for the Babylon Crowd there would've been about 10 people there. Big thanks to all who came to support us - let's hope there's a next time!

...oh and a new website

Ish. I took the opportunity to update the website a bit. We're now running the latest version of Drupal 6, with a re-worked events calendar, events listing and galleries. I've also completely replaced the ageing theme with, well, a practically identical one built on a much better, cleaner framework called, um, Framework.

Let me know if there are any issues or if you have any suggestions to improve the site.

Babylon Leaf on Last.fm

last.fmLast.fm is a "social music revolution", and has been evolving over several years into something so much more than most social music sites. And it pisses all over some, naming no coughmyspace names.

Check out our page on last.fm, and get listening!

Come see, come see

Hey up! Some, most, or perhaps even all of Babylon Leaf will be turning up for tuning up and giving a blast at this Thursday's Plug and Play at the Wine Vaults in Ruthin. Its always a pleasure.

See you there?

Weirdness

UPDATE (14/02/2006): Happy Valentines Day! As a lurvey gift to all y'all out there, the site should be fixed up. Have a smoochy night!

UPDATE (11/02/2006): one of the text filters is broken. Some content is mysteriously vanishing into the void. You might as well ignore the site for now. Curses.

UPDATE (10/02/2006): we had to sack the last server off, so I'm afraid the site has moved again. This time around, we're waiting on images, and some links may be broken until we get our clean URLs working properly on the new server.

There's some weirdness going on in babylonleaf.com webland. I've moved the site to Leafish's spanking new server, and some things are broken, like some images, the gigs listing colours etc... holler if you notice anything else completely broken.

I promise I'll sort it out eventually.
Paul

oh my god

This Saturday 10th December, Flint Borough Club, Woodfield Ave, 8pm. £3 on the door.

With some help from friends n' that on the wheels of steel. Don't miss it, you'd be a fool to do so.

See you then!

Its good to be back

Well its autumn now; the summer has well and truly done a runner... But we are all back in North Wales and all ready to make some noise once again. Congratulations to Neil and Sally on the birth of Little Kurt (I told him condoms don't work - would he listen?).

So we're back on it, new place to practice, and plenty of gigs lined up. So keep in touch everyone and keep an eye out in your local sports and social club for forthcoming events. Ha. Or look in gigs...

Nice one dudes... see you soon...

Babylon All Change

All ChangeWell, come the summer Babylon Leaf is all change once again: Hanny is off to Tenerife with Sammy for at least three months, with the possibility of staying for good. Hanny has always been pissed off living in this country, so good on him. The band's procrastination through-out 2004 couldn't have helped either... We all wish him and Sammy the best of luck.

The Leaf are going to continue. We're still jamming and practicing, with the intention of cramming in as many gigs as possible before Hanny goes as well as recording a new CD containing four or five of our new tracks (well, new since the last CD anyway).

More news soon.
